I'm assuming that you're saying you have a 4' coiled breakaway cable kind of like the Fastway # FA80-01-2140. When it comes to replacing the cable it really doesn't matter what the style/length is as long as the length is less than your safety chains. In the event of a breakaway the safety chains will keep the trailer attached to the tow vehicle and will pull tight, causing the breakaway cable pin to be pulled out of the switch. Starting with measuring the axle you will need to measure from hub face to hub face, and from spring center to spring center. This will tell us the length of the axle needed, and how wide the frame of your trailer is.
